Extend RS232 and RS485 serial communication across kilometers of Ethernet fiber or cellular networks.

  • Serial instrument (weigh scale, flow transmitter, barcode scanner) transmits raw serial data on RS232/RS485
  • Hardware serial device server encapsulates serial bytes into TCP or UDP packets
  • Packets travel across local Ethernet switches, optical fiber backbones, or secure WAN tunnels
  • At the destination, packets are either received by another serial converter (Pair Connection mode) or by a Virtual COM driver on a PC
